Growling Swan – 29th Aug

Well Steve Younger makes it 5 Monthly Mugs and says, “There are plenty more to win”. Good effort Steve!  

Thursday and Mug Day one would hope that numbers are good for today’s event, this event is part of our tradition and always played on the last Thursday of the month as a Stroke event!

It was Twenty Five golfers that had decided to have another crack at winning the coveted Monthly Mug. Today’s venue is Eastern Star, a course that recently up graded the club house. This is another great course that when priced correct it is worthwhile playing!

How nice it is, this course is in good condition, although a little on the dry side and lacking water, regardless it’s a good course to play. It’s one that we enjoy when we can play it of course! Everything about this was good fairways mowed and clean, bunkers had been raked and were tidy and last but not least the greens played true.

Weather was on our side, making the day comfortable, we attacked the course from the front tees. With the numbers we had, this allowed us to play Two Flights with three placing’s and all novelties in play.

A Flight.

Steve Younger added to his collection of Monthly Mugs, today takes his tally to five making him second on “Leader Board”. He got Alex Field via the countback system both golfers had great scores of Net 68. Glenn Henricksen filled the last spot on the podium beating Mashi, Kissy and The Viper in a countback!

B Flight.

Gary Williams took out B Flight and I am not 100% sure but I think that this may have been his first win with us! Gary’s net 72 was enough to give him the win. Second past the post and only 1 shot behind, we had two golfers returning with the same score, but as it turned out Shane Young got Lindsay

A Flight. 0 to 18.
