Plutaluang 15th Aug
Well there is a lot that I can say but I guess the thing that pleases me the most was the turn out today to celebrate the Life of Tony Olcorn!
This is an annual event and looking at the numbers it will continue on, support for this day has been excellent from both Australia, and of course, Thailand.
In the photo we have “The Winning Group” along with Tony’s daughter! From L to R Jayson Schembri © Paula Kinnane, Andrew Allen, Aaron Shorten and Stu (Casa) Rifkin).
How nice it is, on waking this morning there was not a cloud in the sky, given the recent rains we have been experiencing it was a relief that today’s event will not be rain interrupted. The course was priced well as it always is, the course was in good condition, fairways were clean and mowed, bunkers were not in too bad a shape and the greens were a little on the slow side. So the only thing that can go against us is ability.
This course like most courses in the region is suffering from the lack of rain. It was a surprise to us all that “The Lighthouse Hole”, well you could actually walk from the tee box to the green, unbelievable!
As today’s event was a 4 Ball better Ball, we were able to field seven groups of 4 26 men and 2 women which was good to see. We went from the front tees (women from the red tees) All rules were explained and we were all set for a good day.
Today’s Placings from Plutaluang.
1st Group 3. (60.25) Net.
2nd Group 2. (60.32) Net.
3rd Group 6. (60.69) Net.
Back at Bogey’s Bar & Grill we all got ready for the presentation, where Mick MacGregor along with Paula Kinnane presented the winners with their prizes. Again Mick thanks for all the prizes that you and Jason organized! We then settled into a fantastic meal of Beef Stew prepared by Mott and of course put on by Monty and those at Bogey’s bar. Unfortunately all those that were welcomed were leaving us except for Aaron Shorten and of course Monty Richardson. To all those traveling we wish you all safe travels and hope that it’s not too long till you visit us again! Safe travels!
D-For was set free by Alex and the punters and players at Bogeys Bar and Grill were generous as always with their contributions towards the needy in Pattaya. All are thanked for this.
All in all it was a great day and I am sure if you be a winner or a loser the day was A Winner! I thank you all.
