Promoting Sports & Supporting Local Charities
A refreshing new look at golf with the PSC

About the PSC
The Pattaya Sports Club was founded in mid-1979. At that time, Pattaya was a quiet, out-of-the-way seaside fishing village. Weekenders came mostly from Bangkok to enjoy the beach, water sports and breezy outdoor seafood restaurants. The locals were mainly fishermen and small shop owners.
Among the few foreign residents were a handful of Vietnam veteran expatriates who had settled in Pattaya. One among them, Bill Gilmore, called the sports-minded together. The Charter Members numbers thirty-one and included men and women, Thais and foreigners. They named the club, approved the club symbol and agreed that the objectives of the club would be to conduct and promote sports events and contribute to local charities. The first milestone in the history of the Pattaya Sports Club had been reached.
Our next scheduled event will be the Club Championships on January 20th and 22nd at Burapha, a 2 day 36 hole medal & stableford tournament.

Twelve members, nine partners and six children ventured up to Chatrium Soi Dao golf resort for a two day tournament. It was great to see the wives and children enjoy the trip. From the moment we were met at reception by the ever smiling Ann and the hotel staff until we left on Wednesday. We were treated like royalty by all staff.
PSC Treasurer John Player and I met with the hotel manager Khun Wirachi Chakumrod (Wim) to discuss future cooperation between PSC and Soi Dao; I am happy to announce that in the near future we will be able to advise you of an ongoing “stay and play” deal for PSC members which will be better than can be obtained anywhere else. Wim has also guaranteed to be a major sponsor for our next Charity Classic. Thank you Wim!!
We played from the yellow tees and had lift, clean and place. The course was in fantastic condition although as we were following a tournament some of the pin placements were very tricky. Soi Dao would have to be one of the best courses in Thailand.
